  30. The manual labeled "FCPlus Pro Manual.html".  The manual is 
  31. in Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free application available from Adobe Systems.
  32. This application can be installed from this CD-ROM (if this is on a 
  33. CD-ROM), possibly from Palm's Desktop software CD-ROM or directly from
  34. Adobe's web site.  It can be accessed via Infinity Softworks' web site at

  41. General Instructions
  42. For this archive, we need to install one file: "fpro200.prc".  Additionally, 
  43. you must first run the version of FCPlus you are upgrading from, than 
  44. install FCPlus Professional 2.0 and run it before deleting the old version.

  47. In order for you to install an Infinity Softworks' application, the desktop 
  48. software that comes with your Palm connected organizer must be installed.á 
  49. We also recommend reading your Palm connected organizer manual.á Look for a 
  50. section on installing third-party applications or on the Install Tool.

  53. Windows Installation
  54. This archive is self-installing for Windows 95, Windows 98, and compatible 
  55. Windows NT machines.á If the installation program did not run when unpacking 
  56. this archive, double-click on setup.exe to install the software onto your 
  57. Palm Connected Organizer.

  60. Macintosh Installation
  61. There are two methods for installing with MacPak 2.0 or later (for 1.0, see 
  62. Installing on Other Systems).  
  63.  
  64. 1. The first option is to double-click the applications to install.  This should 
  65. start the Install Tool. If it does not open the Install Tool, try option number 
  66. two.  
  67.  
  68. 2. The second option is to run the Install Tool.  From the Palm Desktop shortcut 
  69. in the top, right corner of the screen, select HotSync Manager.  From the HotSync 
  70. menu, select "Install..." and follow the onscreen directions.

  73. Installing on Other Systems
  74. There are two items you need to install any third-party application.á The first 
  75. is the Palm Install Tool; the second is the Palm application(s) you want to install.á 
  76. The Palm Install Tool is named "instapp.exe" or "Install Tool" and the Palm 
  77. application can end with the extension ".prc" or ".pdb" (.prc is the application, 
  78. .pdb is any associated databases).
  79.  
  80. First, lets double-click on each of the Palm applications to see if it will open 
  81. the Install Tool.á If the Install Tool did open, click "Done" or "Exit" and HotSync.á 
  82. The application will appear in your application's screen on your Palm connected 
  83. organizer after the HotSync process is complete.

  85. If the application does not open and instead shows you a dialog box asking which 
  86. application should open this program, cancel. á There are three different options 
  87. for locating the Install Tool.
  88.  
  89. Option #1: Look in the Palm Desktop application.
  90.  
  91. Run the Palm Desktop application on your computer.á In the application is a list 
  92. of views (Date, Address, To Do, Memo, etc.) along the left-hand column.á If one is 
  93. labeled "Install", click this icon and it will open the Install Tool.
  94.  
  95. Option #2: Look in the Start Menu (or Apple Menu).
  96.  
  97. Under "Programs" in the Start menu (or on the Apple menu), look for a folder 
  98. entitled "Palm Desktop", "PalmPilot Desktop", or "Pilot Desktop" and select the 
  99. Install Tool.

  101. Option #3: Search for it on your hard drive.
  102.  
  103. On your Start menu, put the cursor over "Find" and then select "Files or Folders"á
  104. (for Macintosh users, select Find from the Apple menu).
  105. 1. In the name field, type "instapp" (without the quotes).á 
  106. 2. Make sure the "Look In" category is your hard drive and the "Include subfolders" 
  107.    checkbox is checked (Windows only).
  108. 3. Select the "Find Now" button.
  109.  
  110. If the "instapp" application appears in the list, we have found the application.á
  111.  
  112. Double-click on it to run the Palm Install Tool.á If the application does not 
  113. appear, try another hard drive or contact Palm's technical support about installing

  117. Once you are in the Install Tool, you need to locate the applications you want 
  118. to install on your Palm connected organizer.
  119. 1. Select the "Browse" or "Add" button.
  120. 2. Locate the file you want to install.
  121. 3. Select the file and click "Open" or "OK".
  122. 4. Exit the Install Tool.

  124. The next time you HotSync, the application will be installed onto your handheld.á 
  125. Look in the Application's screen on your Palm connected organizer to see if it 
  126. loaded successfully.
